hey aramis,
argh! i hate those flash too! mama's camera even have this annoying red light... which according to her is the auto focus thingy, i say "STOP THE FLASH!"

MTLH's camera has a green light that shines in my eyes first, then the flash!! Mostly though she shines the green light on my feet so it doesn't hurt my eyes. Maybe you can ask your Mama to do that too.
